Role Overview
As a key member of Envusa's Executive Committee, the CFO / Head of Finance will lead the financial strategy and operations across Envusa's group of companies and project entities, driving sustainable growth and ensuring robust governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a strategic partner on the Executive Committee.
- Present financial forecasts and budgets to the Board and ExCo.
- Ensure effective governance, compliance, and decision‑making structures.
- Align financial decisions with shareholder expectations and commercial objectives.
- Define and implement Envusa's financial strategy in line with shareholder standards.
- Build and lead a high‑performing, purpose‑led finance team.
- Drive the development of financial systems, processes, and IT tools.
- Support new business opportunities locally and internationally.
- Lead budget planning, forecasting, and performance tracking.
- Manage cash flow, capital structures, and cost control.
- Ensure accurate IFRS‑compliant reporting and regulatory compliance.
- Implement finance tools for procurement, investment tracking, and invoice validation.
- Provide financial input into project development and strategic planning.
- Support valuation, capital management, and land acquisition processes.
- Contribute to partner selection for empowerment and community initiatives.
- Champion a safety‑first culture aligned with Envusa and shareholder values.
- Participate in audits and ensure adherence to HSE standards.
- Ensure compliance with financial, tax, legal, and accounting regulations.
- Oversee internal controls, governance, and risk management.
Requirements
Qualifications
- Registered Chartered Accountant (CA SA) or equivalent.
Experience
- 10+ years in finance leadership roles within capital‑intensive industries (energy, mining, infrastructure).
- Proven track record in project finance, with strong relationships across Southern African financial institutions.
- Experience managing multi‑site and multi‑country operations.
- Skilled in corporate finance, accounting, reporting, and capital markets.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and grow finance teams.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and commercial acumen.
Skills
- Deep understanding of South African financial regulations.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and financial planning tools.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Fluency in English; French or South African languages advantageous.
