As a hands-on, commercially engaged finance leader, you’ll partner with the CEO and Board to drive financial strategy, optimise operations, ensure robust governance, and provide the insight needed to support ambitious growth initiatives across South Africa and beyond.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Design and deliver the financial strategy to support market expansion, new product development, and sustainable growth.
 - Provide forward-looking financial insights to guide strategic decision-making and business planning.
 - Partner with the CEO and executive team to evaluate M&A opportunities, joint ventures, and strategic partnerships.
 - Oversee budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and working capital optimisation.
 - Ensure full compliance with local tax, audit, and sector-specific regulatory obligations.
 - Build and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure transparency.
 - Lead annual audit processes and liaise with external auditors, regulators, and other key stakeholders.
 - Act as the financial face of the organisation to investors, shareholders, banks, and partners.
 - Produce clear, accurate, and timely financial reports for the Board, regulators, and external stakeholders.
 - Contribute to capital raising initiatives, investor relations strategies, and funding arrangements.
 - Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, embedding a culture of accountability, innovation, and excellence.
 - Develop scalable systems, processes, and reporting structures to support a multi-jurisdictional, high-growth business.
 - Champion the use of financial technology and data analytics to drive efficiency and strategic insight.
 
Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in senior finance roles, including at least 5 years in an executive or CFO capacity.
 - Proven experience in iGaming, sports betting, payments, FinTech, or other highly regulated sectors.
 - Strong expertise in financial planning, risk management, treasury, and cross-border operations.
 - Excellent commercial acumen with the ability to balance governance and entrepreneurial growth.
 - Proven leadership experience with teams, Board-level influence, and stakeholder engagement.
 - Exposure to international markets, multi-currency environments, and high-growth business strategy.
