Responsibilities:

  • Spearhead the formulation and implementation of the company's overall strategy, articulating clear plans to achieve objectives to all stakeholders.
  • Drive strategic initiatives focused on growing Net Asset Value, promoting women's empowerment within investee companies, fostering SME development, and supporting under represented groups empowerment through targeted programs.
  • Oversee the implementation of the company strategy, ensuring operational excellence and integrating robust risk prevention principles.
  • Ensure sound corporate governance and risk management practices are in place, providing assurance to the Board.
  • Manage financial resources efficiently, overseeing budgeting, financial reporting, and annual audits to ensure the company's financial sustainability.
  • Lead the investment strategy, identifying new investment opportunities to grow Net Asset Value while actively managing investment risks.
  • Provide inspirational leadership, develop talented management staff, and ensure a strong succession plan is in place.
  • Act as the external spokesperson for the company, building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including funders, government departments, and industry bodies.

Requirements:

Must-Haves:

  • Accounting, Economics, or Business degree; Masters in Business Administration (MBA) or equivalent post-graduate degree.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in investment management, private equity, or investment banking, with a focus on client engagement and deal-making.
  • At least 5 years' experience in a general management or senior leadership role, responsible for driving business strategy and managing the income statement.
  • Demonstrable understanding of business and economic drivers, with established networks within banking, corporate, and government sectors.
  • Proven experience (3 years) engaging at a strategic level (Board or Executive Committee) and driving business development.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory and industry best practices, including associated risk management.
