Job summary

Agri Technovation (Pty) Ltd in Wellington, Western Cape, invites applications for a Chemical Process Engineer to join the Process Engineering team on a permanent basis. You will optimise production processes from bench to commercial scales and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver efficient, reliable operations.

The role requires a completed Chemical/Process Engineering degree, 3–5 years in manufacturing, and preference for bioprocessing or enzyme experience.

Qualifications

• Completed degree in Chemical or Process Engineering; Master’s degree advantageous
• 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing/production environments
• Experience in agricultural input, food processing, chemical or pharmaceutical industries advantageous
• Bioprocessing specialization or enzyme experience considered a strong advantage
• Fluent Afrikaans and English (speaking and writing)
• Proficiency with standard business and engineering software tools

Responsibilities

• Assist with process technology development across bench, pilot, semi-commercial and commercial scales
• Optimise and improve chemical, physical and biochemical processes to meet production goals and improve efficiency
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify process improvement opportunities and implement solutions
• Conduct process simulations and modelling to evaluate process performance and identify areas for improvement
• Troubleshoot process issues and develop effective solutions to minimise downtime and ensure optimal production
• Provide support in all phases of production, including end-product support
• Develop and maintain process documentation, including SOPs and WIs
• Assist in the quality control process
• Provide technical support to various organisational departments and operations
• Assist in Product issues in the field and develop POKE YOKE's to prevent reoccurrence of the issues
• Ad Hoc or other related duties as assigned

This is an ideal position for a Chemical Engineer searching for an exciting career opportunity in a dynamic and rapidly growing Agtech and Input company. The Chemical Process Engineer position is a permanent position based in Wellington, Western Cape. This position will form part of the Process Engineering team.

Main Responsibilities

Minimum Requirements

• Completed degree in Chemical or Process Engineering. A Master's degree in Engineering would be advantageous.
• 3-5 Years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Experience in the agricultural input, food processing, chemical, or pharmaceutical industries would be advantageous
• Specialisation in bioprocessing or practical experience working with enzymes will be considered a strong advantage.
