Job summary

A global Agtech company in Wellington, Western Cape is seeking a Chemical Engineer to join their Process Engineering team. The role involves optimizing processes, conducting simulations, and providing technical support. Candidates should have a BEng or BSc Eng in Chemical/Process Engineering with up to 2 years of experience. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential. Qualifications

  • Recent graduate or 2 years post-graduate experience.
  • Experience in agricultural input, food processing, chemical or pharmaceutical industries is advantageous.
  • High proficiency in typical business and engineering software tools.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with process technology development on bench, pilot, semi-commercial and commercial scale.
  • Optimise chemical, physical and biochemical processes to meet production goals.
  • Conduct process simulations and modeling to evaluate performance.
  • Troubleshoot process issues and develop effective solutions.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation including SOPs.

Job description

This is an ideal position for a Chemical Engineer searching for an exciting career opportunity in a dynamic and rapidly growing global Agtech and Input Business.

The Chemical Process Engineer position is a permanent position based in Wellington, Western Cape.

This position will form part of the Process Engineering team.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assist with process technology development on bench, pilot, semi-commercial and commercial scale
  • Optimise, and improve chemical, physical and biochemical processes to meet production goals and improve efficiency
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify process improvement opportunities and implement solutions
  • Conduct process simulations and modelling to evaluate process performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Troubleshoot process issues and develop effective solutions to minimise downtime and ensure optimal production
  • Provide support in all phases of production, including end-product support
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WIs)
  • Assist in the quality control process
  • Provide technical support to various organisational departments and operations
  • Assist in Product issues in the field and develop POKE YOKE\'s to prevent reoccurrence of the issues
  • Ad Hoc or other related duties as assignes
