Job summary

The President Hotel in Bantry Bay, Cape Town, is seeking a skilled Chef de Partie to own a section and deliver dishes to our luxury standards. You will work within a busy hotel kitchen, maintaining mise en place, portions and presentation for breakfast, lunch and dinner services.

Ideal candidates bring 2–3 years of Chef de Partie experience in 4- or 5-star environments, strong food safety knowledge, and a collaborative spirit to mentor junior chefs and support senior staff in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• Culinary qualification or professional chef training.
• 2–3 years' relevant experience as Chef de Partie or an experienced Demi Chef de Partie.
• Experience in a busy 4- or 5-star hotel, luxury resort or high-volume kitchen.
• Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation and presentation.
• Ability to manage a section with mise en place, portions and service readiness.
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene and HACCP standards.
• Maintain quality, consistency and speed during busy service.
• Strong organisational skills, teamwork, and ability to guide junior chefs.
• Availability to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• South African citizenship or valid work permit.
• Updated CV with profile image and references.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of your section and prepare dishes per recipes and presentation standards.
• Complete mise en place and ensure service readiness.
• Maintain quality, consistency and speed across breakfast, lunch, dinner and function service.
• Work closely with senior chefs and support other sections when required.
• Guide Commis and Demi Chefs and assist with on-the-job training.
• Maintain food safety, hygiene and HACCP standards.
• Monitor stock levels, storage and rotation while controlling portions and minimising waste.
• Keep your section clean, organised and operating efficiently.
