Role Overview
The role is critical in ensuring high-quality, nutritious and well-presented meals that cater to the specific dietary requirements and preferences of the family.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning and preparing daily meals including breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks
- Developing and implementing menus that cater to the dietary needs and preferences of the family
- Shopping for groceries and kitchen supplies
- Maintaining kitchen hygiene and food safety standards
- Catering for special events, parties or functions at the home
- Assisting in the planning, preparation and execution of special diets
- Ensuring all meals are prepared on time and served at the correct temperature
- Managing kitchen budget and inventory
- Perform any other duties assigned by management
Skills & Qualifications
- Matric or equivalent
- Diploma in culinary art or equivalent
- Proven work experience as a private chef or professional chef
- Ability to prepare a wide variety of meals including different cuisines
- Excellent knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
- Ability to cater for special dietary needs and preferences
- Experience with budget management and cost control
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
