Placements24 is assisting a leading financial services firm in Johannesburg in recruiting a Chartered Accountant to join the finance department on a hybrid basis. The role focuses on managing financial operations, ensuring IFRS compliance, and contributing to strategic planning.

The successful candidate will oversee the general ledger, VAT and income tax compliance, budgeting and forecasting, and interact with external auditors.

Qualifications

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) designation or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years post-qualification experience in a financial role.
• Proficiency in IFRS and SA tax legislation.
• Experience with SAP or Oracle and advanced Excel.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsabilités

• Oversee and manage the preparation of IFRS-compliant financial statements.
• Ensure VAT and Income Tax compliance remains up to date.
• Manage general ledger, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard assets.
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements

• Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA(SA)) designation or equivalent international qualification.

• Strong knowledge of IFRS and South African tax legislation.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

• Experience in managing teams and leading projects is advantageous.
• Must be willing to work a hybrid schedule in Johannesburg, Gauteng.
