The successful candidate will have at least 5 years in Category Management within FMCG, strong analytical and negotiation skills, and the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders to deliver category plans.

Our client, a leading entity within the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, is actively seeking a strategic and experienced Category Manager to oversee and drive the performance of key grocery categories in Randburg, Gauteng. This pivotal role involves developing category strategies, managing supplier relationships, optimising product assortments, and ensuring profitable growth. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of consumer trends, market dynamics, and retail operations within the grocery segment. You will be instrumental in shaping our client's product offering and maximising sales potential in the competitive Randburg market. Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive category strategies to achieve sales, market share, and profitability targets.
• Manage the entire product lifecycle within assigned categories, from sourcing to promotion.
• Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and consumer insights to identify growth opportunities and optimise assortments.
• Negotiate favourable terms and pricing with suppliers to ensure competitive product offerings.
• Develop and implement effective promotional and pricing strategies to drive sales and shopper engagement.
• Collaborate with marketing, sales, and operations teams to ensure alignment and successful execution of category plans.
• Monitor category performance, identify deviations, and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
• Ensure optimal product availability and placement within retail environments in the Gauteng region.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Commerce, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Category Management, ideally within the FMCG grocery sector.
• Proven track record of successfully managing and growing product categories.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to interpret complex data.
