Job summary

A prominent recruitment firm is seeking a Category Manager based in Centurion. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in procurement and supply chain, along with strong vendor management skills. Responsibilities include managing procurement activities, developing contracts, and enhancing customer relationships. An undergraduate degree in supply chain or commerce is required, and professional registration is preferred.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years’ experience in Procurement and Supply Chain.
  • Professional registration at the Institute of Purchasing and Supply SA or CIPS is preferred.
  • General knowledge in finance, law and auditing.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all procurement related activities of third parties spend.
  • Identify, implement and maintain commodity and service contracts.
  • Develop and maintain expert knowledge of supply markets and competitors.
  • Facilitate procurement change initiatives to improve performance.
  • Manage vendor rationalization strategy including selection and compliance.
  • Build relationships with customers to enhance experience.
  • Manage all contracts within the various categories.
  • Perform procurement analyses and reporting.

  • Identify, implement and maintain commodity and service contracts to support the business.
  • Develop and maintain expert knowledge of all the respective supply markets, competitors and service innovations.
  • Facilitate the implementation of procurement change initiatives to improve business performance.
  • Manage all aspects of the vendor rationalization strategy to support the business nationally, including vendor selection, compliance and performance.
  • Build relationships with customers to enhance customer experience.
  • Manage all contracts within the various categories.
  • Perform procurement analyses and reporting to assist management to track, monitor and achieve departmental targets.
