You will design engaging lessons, assess progress, and support students in building practical IT competencies while staying current with evolving technology and curriculum standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT/CS with PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification
• Experience teaching CAT at high school level
• In-depth knowledge of SA CAPS for CAT
• Proficiency in software applications and basic programming
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and classroom management skills
• Ability to teach in-person and remote/hybrid learning
• Willing to work at the school premises in Soweto, Gauteng

Responsabilités

• Teach Computer Applications Technology to high school students (Grades 8-12)
• Deliver the CAPS curriculum including software, hardware, networking and basic programming
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, practical exercises and projects
• Assess student progress with practical tasks, tests and assignments
• Provide constructive feedback and support to develop IT skills
• Maintain a stimulating and well-managed computer lab environment
• Stay updated with advances in computer technology and software
• Collaborate with IT department and staff on school technology initiatives
• Promote digital citizenship and responsible tech use among students
