Job summary

Position : Accounts Payable Cashbook Clerk

Location : Helderkruin

Overview

We are seeking a detail‑oriented and organized Cashbook Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the cashbook entries and reconciliations in a timely and accurate manner. The Cashbook Clerk will work closely with the finance team to ensure all financial transactions are recorded correctly and discrepancies are resolved promptly.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date cashbooks for all accounts payable transactions
  • Process and post invoices, credit card payments and other expenses to the appropriate accounts
  • Reconcile cashbooks with general ledger accounts on a regular basis
  • Assist with month‑end closing procedures including preparing journal entries and reconciliations
  • Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve payment discrepancies
  • Assist with ad‑hoc financial projects and reports as needed
Qualifications
  • Finance Diploma or related
  • 2 years of experience in accounts payable or a related field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
  • Experience with accounting software (SAP)
  • Associate degree or higher in accounting or a related field
