Job summary

Tafadzwa is recruiting for a Candidate Quantity Surveyor to support senior quantity surveyors and learn the full scope of the profession. The role has offices in Cape Town and Johannesburg.

You will maintain project records, assist with cost estimates, BoQs, and tender documentation, and contribute to cost planning during design stages while progressing toward SACQSP/RICS APC registration.

Qualifications

• BTech Quantity Surveying degree from an accredited institution.
• Candidate Quantity Surveyor registration with the relevant professional body.
• Minimum 5 years post-graduation experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintain organized project records and cost data.
• Assist in compiling progress reports, cost reports, and meeting minutes.
• Prepare logbooks, diaries, or reports required for professional registration (e.g., RICS APC, SACQSP PrQS logbook).
• Assist in preparing initial cost estimates and feasibility studies.
• Help develop cost plans during design stages (elemental cost planning).
• Assist in the preparation of BoQs, schedules of rates, and other tender documentation.
• Participate in the analysis and comparison of contractor tenders.
• Assist in the selection of procurement methods.
• Help prepare and issue tender documents and manage tender processes.
