Job summary

OCS UK & Ireland is seeking a Cleaner at Sedgefield Community College, working Monday to Friday 15:30–18:30. You will deliver high standards of cleaning and hygiene across sites, maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for clients, colleagues and visitors.

As a Cleaner you will perform day-to-day cleaning tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, dusting and waste disposal, follow health and safety procedures, replenish consumables, and raise maintenance issues when needed. DBS check may be required.

Qualifications

• Experience in cleaning in a commercial/public sector environment is desirable
• Knowledge of cleaning methods, equipment and materials
• Awareness of health & safety and hygiene standards
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Good attention to detail and commitment to high standards
• Reliable, punctual and flexible approach to work
• Ability to follow instructions and procedures

Responsibilities

• Carry out general cleaning duties including vacuuming, mopping, dusting, wiping surfaces and emptying waste
• Clean welfare areas, offices, corridors, washrooms and other designated areas
• Replenish consumables such as toilet paper, hand towels and soap
• Follow all health & safety, COSHH and cleaning procedures
• Use cleaning equipment and materials safely and correctly
• Report maintenance issues, damages or hazards to the supervisor
• Work efficiently to complete tasks within agreed timescales
• Maintain a professional and courteous approach when interacting with customers and colleagues
• Support site-specific cleaning requirements as directed by your manager
