Job summary

Network Contracting in Gauteng is seeking a CAD Draughtsman to produce precise 2D and 3D drawings and detailed manufacturing layouts. You will interpret designs, revise drawings as needed, and support production with accurate documentation.

The role requires a National Diploma or equivalent in mechanical drawing and hands-on experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Inventor. Attention to detail and good communication are essential for timely project delivery.

Qualifications

• National Diploma or relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Draughting, or a related technical field.
• Proven experience in a CAD Draughtsman or Mechanical Draughting role.
• Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar packages.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and manufacturing requirements.
• Good understanding of engineering principles, dimensions, tolerances, and materials.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed 2D and 3D engineering drawings using CAD software.
• Develop manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings, layouts, and technical specifications.
• Interpret engineering designs, sketches, and project requirements to produce accurate drawings.
• Revise and update existing drawings in line with design changes and project requirements.
• Ensure that drawings comply with relevant engineering standards, dimensions, tolerances, and specifications.
• Collaborate with engineers, production teams, and other departments to ensure design accuracy and manufacturability.
• Assist with material take-offs, bills of materials (BOMs), and technical documentation where required.
• Maintain an organised drawing register and ensure that all drawings are properly documented and controlled.
• Provide technical support to production and resolve drawing-related queries.
• Ensure that all drawings are completed within agreed project deadlines.
