Job summary

An established retail company in East London is seeking a Buyer's Assistant to support the Buying Department and Senior Buyers. This role requires proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong administrative skills. The ideal candidate will have a qualification in Fashion Design and at least 2 years of experience in a similar role. Responsibilities include managing orders, compiling reports, and ensuring data integrity. A valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum requirement of a Matric + 2 years’ experience in a similar role / in a retail environment.
  • Qualification in Fashion Design / similar administrative role (advantageous).
  • Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

  • Support the needs of the Buying Department and Senior Buyers.
  • Administration of all products and orders placed by Buyers.
  • Compile competitive pricing reports.
  • Ensure data integrity in product and orders control checks.
  • Assist with sample management in the promotion process.

Job Purpose

The Buyers Assistant supports the needs of the Buying Department and Senior Buyers and needs to be proficient across all tasks relating to these roles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Order Administration
  • Update OTB (Open to Buy) sheets and notify Buyers
  • Administration of all products and orders placed by Buyers
  • Product and orders control checks to ensure data integrity
  • Manage Kimble, swing tag and courier requirements Reporting
  • Follow up on outstanding orders and report to Buyers
  • Compile competitive pricing reports
  • Assist Buyers in compiling specific reports e.g., best / worst sellers, promotion product
  • Delivery and Quality Approvals
  • Sign off product deliveries against Buyer's order specifications
  • Sign off on product quality using sample received from warehouse Sample Control
  • Sample follow ups with suppliers
  • Maintain sample archiving processes
  • Prepare samples for review and promotional activities
  • Compile review outcome document
  • Assist with sample management in the promotion process and oversee correct use of product On the Buyers behalf. Store support
  • Timeous feedback to relevant persons on store and customer enquiries.
Minimum Requirements for the Job
  • Excellent administrative skills.
  • Qualification in Fashion Design
  • Expertise in data capture.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to adapt quickly to changes in a demanding environment
  • Outstanding communication skills.
  • Matric with 2 years’ experience in a similar administrative role.
  • A valid code 8 driver’s license
  • Experience in a similar role in retail buying is advantageous.
