BUYER - PAINT

WESTERN CAPE - PAARL

Responsible for the development and execution of the Paint Procurement strategy, managing suppliers, and ensuring optimal product availability across multiple branches.

POSITION INFO :

Key Performance Areas :

• Serve as the central point of contact for all paint suppliers
• Identify opportunities to streamline product ranges and reduce complexity
• Participate in category-specific product development initiatives
• Assist in establishing seasonal demand and procurement plans
• Support in determining optimal stock assortments per branch
• Negotiate purchase prices, term deals, and resolve pricing discrepancies
• Assess supply and quality risks while evaluating supplier capacity and capability
• Procure products based on demand forecasts and branch requirements
• Identify and communicate category-specific supply constraints to minimise disruptions
• Maintain accurate purchase price records within the ERP system

Requirements :

• B Degree (Procurement)
• 2 years related experience, preferably within the FMCG environment (Retail stores)
• Specialist Paint knowledge and Paint Procurement experience
• Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint & Advanced Excel
• Demonstrated negotiation skills
• Own transport and a valid driver’s license are required as candidates must be prepared to travel for work purposes
• The candidate must be willing to work long hours during peak times
