Description

Our Client, a market leader in the Automotive Manufacturing Industry; is seeking to employ an experienced Buyer, to their dynamic team based in Uitenhage, Eastern Cape.

3–5 years’ general procurement experience (non-production buying) within the automotive or related industry secures!

Requirements

  • National Diploma or Degree in Procurement, Logistics, Commerce, Finance, Business Management, or Public Management.
  • 3–5 years’ general procurement experience (non-production buying) within the automotive or related industry.
  • Computer literacy, including SAP and MS Office.
  • A valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

  • Perform technical work to ensure commercially and legally correct orders/contracts are placed.
  • Ensure goods and services are purchased on time, economically, and at required quality standards to maintain uninterrupted supply to production.
  • Apply financial, accounting, and economic knowledge to evaluate pricing.
  • Conduct benchmarking, global competitive sourcing, and supplier negotiations.
  • Evaluate suppliers and negotiate prices, terms, service delivery, and quality while maintaining regulatory and quality standards.
  • Achieve monthly and year-on-year cost savings.
  • Prepare RFQs, purchase orders, and contract documentation.
  • Maintain the current supplier base and establish new suppliers to optimize cost and service through benchmarking and market research.
  • Adjudicate tenders based on procedural requirements to ensure competitive and fair supplier selection.
