Hire Resolve’s client in the manufacturing sector is urgently seeking a Buyer in Midrand, Gauteng to manage sourcing and procurement of electrical components and materials.

The role requires negotiating with suppliers, maintaining supplier relationships, monitoring stock, and coordinating with production and logistics to meet schedules. Strong analytical skills and knowledge of manufacturing processes are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or related field.
• Experience in procurement, preferably in electrical manufacturing.
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
• Knowledge of electrical components and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Source and purchase raw materials, components, and equipment.
• Identify, evaluate, and maintain relationships with suppliers.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with vendors.
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate with production and warehouse teams to prevent shortages or overstocking.
• Work with engineering, production, and logistics teams to ensure materials are available per production schedules.
• Ensure purchased materials meet industry standards, specifications, and compliance regulations.
• Stay updated on market trends, material availability, and potential risks to the supply chain.
• Generate and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and adherence to policies.
• Track spending, analyse cost-saving opportunities, and prepare reports for management.
• Monitor supplier performance based on delivery timelines, quality, and service levels.
