Job summary

A leading procurement company in South Africa is seeking an experienced Buyer to source and negotiate goods and services. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of proven experience in a procurement role. Key responsibilities include managing purchase orders, maintaining supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance in procurement documentation. Proficiency in SAGE Evolution and Microsoft Excel is essential. This position is located preferably near Meyerton / Vereeniging.

Qualifications

• 35 years proven experience as a Buyer or in a similar procurement role.
• Proficiency with SAGE Evolution and Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Source, negotiate, and purchase goods and services required for operations.
• Build and maintain effective working relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery timelines to achieve best value.
• Create and manage accurate purchase orders in line with company standards.
• Monitor stock levels and forecast procurement needs to prevent shortages.
• Ensure accuracy and compliance in all procurement documentation.
• Resolve supplier or delivery issues promptly to avoid operational delays.
• Prepare and maintain purchasing reports using Excel and SAGE Evolution.
