The BI Manager will oversee all aspects of business intelligence and analytics. This role demands a strategic leader who can deliver actionable insights, and drive innovation in a fast-paced iGaming environment. The successful candidate will develop BI solutions, and lead initiatives in predictive analytics, customer segmentation, and process automation. Reporting to the CEO, this position involves close collaboration with marketing, operations, finance, and VIP teams to align data strategies with business goals. The role is based in South Africa and open to hybrid work.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Intelligence and Reporting:
- Build and manage BI platforms (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Grafana) to deliver real-time, interactive dashboards and reports for stakeholders across the organization.
- Develop KPIs and metrics tailored to iGaming.
- Provide ad-hoc and scheduled reports to support decision-making in marketing, operations, finance & VIP.
- Data Analysis and Insights:
- Perform advanced data analysis to uncover trends, customer behaviours, and market opportunities using statistical tools and techniques (e.g., prediction models, AB Testing, segmentation).
- Translate complex datasets into actionable insights, presenting findings to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and compelling manner.
- Monitor industry trends in iGaming and retail betting to inform strategic initiatives.
- Data Visualization:
- Create intuitive and visually appealing data visualizations to communicate insights effectively, using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Grafana.
- Ensure visualizations are tailored to different audiences, from executive summaries to detailed operational reports.
- Predictive Analytics and Forecasting:
- Develop and deploy predictive models to forecast customer behaviour, revenue trends, and market shifts using machine learning techniques.
- Implement models to predict player churn, engagement, or high-value customer segments.
- Use time-series forecasting to project betting volumes and financial performance.
- CRM and Customer Insights:
- Assist the CRM Manager with the CRM system to manage customer data, segment audiences, and personalize marketing campaigns.
- Leverage customer data to enhance user experiences, increase retention, and optimize acquisition strategies.
- Integrate CRM data with BI tools to provide a holistic view of customer journeys.
- Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, IT, compliance, and product development, to align data initiatives with business priorities.
- Present strategic insights and recommendations to senior leadership, influencing business decisions.
- Technology and Innovation:
- Evaluate and adopt emerging technologies, such as AI, machine learning, or big data frameworks to enhance data capabilities.
- Stay updated on iGaming industry trends, including regulatory changes and technological advancements, to maintain a competitive edge.
- Experiment with new tools and methodologies to improve data processing, analysis, and visualization.
- Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure all data practices comply with South African data protection laws (e.g., POPIA) and responsible gaming regulations.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in data management, business intelligence, or analytics.
- Proven experience in iGaming, betting, fintech, or other high-volume, customer-facing industries.
- Hands-on experience managing large-scale databases.Demonstrated success in building and scaling BI systems, including dashboards and reporting frameworks.
- Experience with predictive modelling, machine learning, or advanced statistical analysis.
- Prior work with CRM platforms and customer segmentation strategies.
- Track record of leading automation projects.
- Certifications (preferred but not mandatory):
- Certifications in BI tools (e.g., Tableau Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified: Power BI).
- Data science or machine learning certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics, Google Data Engineer).
