Job description

Leader in Supply Chain and Logistics Solutions is looking for a Business Development Manager (BDM) who will focus on driving business growth by identifying new sales opportunities, maintaining and building relationships. The successful candidate will be a natural hunter with a passion for sales and will be responsible for bringing in new business and play a crucial role in expanding our organisation’s market reach and increase revenue.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Matric and tertiary qualification in Business/ Sales/ Supply Chain
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience selling supply chain and logistics solutions
  • Proven experience in a commercial or business development role, preferably within a logistics or supply chain environment
  • Knowledge of customs, SARS and other regulatory requirements
  • Experience with tender applications and secure tender businessSolid understanding of logistics principles, processes, and best practices
  • MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, (Outlook)
  • Own vehicle and valid driver’s license
  • Clear credit and criminal records
  • Verified References
Key Responsibilities
  • Identifying and researching new business opportunities
  • Cultivating a strong commercial pipeline and secure new customers
  • Building and maintaining customer relationships and convert into repeat business
  • Negotiating and closing deals
  • Onboard new customers successfully, adhering to SOP, SLA, KPI and RFQ requirements
  • Collaborate and work closely with the operations team to ensure that a customer is on-boarded and serviced to the highest level
  • Developing a business development strategy focused on financial gain
  • Managing key account relationships
  • Exceed targets set in terms of generating revenue for the company
  • Update and maintain customer interaction data in sales CRM tool
  • Analyse market trends, identifying potential target markets, and researching leads
