Master Power Technologies is seeking a dynamic and experienced Africa Business Development Manager to lead commercial growth in assigned African regions through direct engagement and channel partner management.
The ideal candidate will have proven business development experience in Africa, understand the local markets and infrastructure environments, and be comfortable managing relationships and accountability with channel partners.
Responsibilities
Market Development & Sales Enablement
- Identify, build, and manage sales opportunities for Master Power's product and solution portfolio in assigned African regions (e.g., Generators, UPSs, Batteries, Data Centre Cooling, BMS, Electrical Distribution Boards etc).
- Engage with major end users (e.g., telcos, banks, ISPs, government agencies) directly and through channel partners to drive specification and conversion.
- Travel extensively within the territory to build local relationships, attend project meetings, host demos, and represent Master Power at key customer sites.
- Maintain a CRM opportunities list and the status of these, directly and indirectly.
Channel Partner Management
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard channel partners aligned with Master Power's go-to-market model.
- Develop and maintain performance metrics and expectations for each partner.
- Coach and support partners with sales strategy, product knowledge, and engagement planning.
- Hold partners accountable to regional sales targets and market development activities.
Strategic Planning & Execution
- Develop joint territory strategies and country-level rollout plans with partners.
- Support local and regional marketing activities, including events, product launches, and roadshows.
- Assess and manage regional conflicts between partners, maintaining the territory discipline.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum 7+ years of business development or channel management experience in Africa.
- Direct exposure to infrastructure solutions (e.g., Generators, UPSs, Batteries, Data Centre Cooling, BMS, Electrical Distribution Boards etc).
- Experience in selecting, onboarding, and managing channel partners.
- Prior sales or project involvement with telco, banking, or public sector clients and data centre applications.
- Fluent in English; fluency in French, Portuguese, or a regional African language is a major advantage.
- Valid passport and readiness for extensive travel (50%+).
- Tertiary Qualification in Business, Marketing or Management.
