Business Development Manager, SAat LytehouseHybrid / remote, South Africa (Johannesburg)

We're looking for people who think like owners, act fast and are hungry to make an impact. Your role: We are looking for a motivated and ambitious individual to be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities while also managing and nurturing existing client relationships.

This is a hands‑on role that covers end‑to‑end sales, working closely with our team and partners to develop and implement strategies for acquiring new customers and increasing revenue from existing accounts.

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in sales and account management, with experience in SaaS and/or the security industry. You'll play a hands‑on role in driving revenue growth, whether that's crafting go‑to‑market strategies, closing deals end‑to‑end or unlocking new industry opportunities. This is a chance to join a pioneering tech startup where you'll be expected to think boldly, execute quickly and grow alongside the business.

This role also has the scope to grow into a Head of Sales position in the next 12 months.

What the job involves
  • Own and drive revenue growth through our distribution and channel partners as well as direct sales across South Africa.
  • Work with our customer success team to ensure swift deal closure and ongoing growth of accounts.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, becoming their trusted partner and go‑to commercial lead.
  • Help partners generate pipeline and close deals through enablement, joint account planning and hands‑on sales support.
  • Identify and unlock new verticals and upsell opportunities in sectors like mining, logistics, retail and estates.
  • Run partner enablement initiatives, including training sessions, go‑to‑market planning and sales incentives.
  • Work closely with Lytehouse leadership to continuously optimise our South African growth strategy and partner approach.
  • Track direct pipeline and partner performance, reporting regularly to the leadership team.
  • Represent Lytehouse at partner meetings, customer pitches and industry events.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and presentations to potential customers.
  • Continually review the customer management process to identify issues and improvements, and then make them happen.
You have
  • Proven success (5+ years) in B2B sales, partnerships or channel management, ideally in security, SaaS or technology.
  • A self‑starter with a record of thriving in fast‑paced environments and who loves building things from scratch.
  • Passionate about technology and the way it can transform industries commercially.
  • Great at building trust and driven to close deals.
  • A natural relationship builder who knows how to motivate partners and hold them accountable.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in the South African security industry or technology distribution landscape is a plus.
