We are seeking a Business Development Manager
To grow Business revenue in the region by targeting high value contract. To drive sustainable revenue growth by securing high-value contracts, developing strategic relationships, and expanding Sanitech’s market presence.
What We’re Looking For
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Diploma or Degree in Business Management, Sales, or Entrepreneurship.
- 10–15 years’ experience in business development or new business sales, ideally in a B2B services or solutions environment.
- Proven track record of winning and managing large or complex contracts.
- Experience working with government, municipalities, and public tenders is essential.
- Strong understanding of market dynamics and competitor positioning.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Valid driver’s license
- Willingness to travel with own reliable vehicle
Key Responsibilities
New Business Development
- Develop and execute regional growth strategies targeting high-value opportunities.
- Identify, engage, and close new business prospects across government and corporate sectors.
- Actively monitor and pursue tenders, RFQs, and RFPs from municipalities and public entities.
- Prepare compelling proposals, costings, and tender submissions.
- Deliver professional sales presentations to senior decision-makers and executives.
Tender Management
- Source and manage tender opportunities end-to-end: attend briefings, prepare documentation, submit bids, and handle post-submission follow-up.
- Lead the appeal process for declined tenders and extract lessons from feedback.
- Maintain active presence on all relevant municipal and departmental websites.
Client Relationship Management
- Build strong, long-term relationships to position Sanitech as the preferred service provider.
- Manage onboarding and implementation of new accounts in collaboration with operations.
- Maintain and grow existing client relationships, with a focus on retention and upselling.
- Serve as the primary contact for client queries and complaints, ensuring prompt resolution.
Sales Operations & Reporting
- Maintain an up-to-date sales pipeline and report progress regularly.
- Achieve and exceed monthly revenue, client acquisition, and retention targets.
- Track and report performance metrics: client visits, proposals submitted, deals closed.
- Submit monthly performance reports, including activity on top 20 clients.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Liaise closely with Operations, Accounts, and National BDM to ensure seamless contract execution.
- Ensure accurate contract documentation and handover to internal stakeholders.
- Support branch duties and assist with debtor management where needed.
Key Competencies
