About the Role

We are looking for a Business Development Manager to drive growth for our Fraud & Identity solutions across South Africa and the broader African region. You will work within our EMEA Fraud & Identity Sales team, partnering with businesses to deliver advanced fraud prevention, digital identity, and transaction monitoring solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Identify and engage new clients across banking, fintech, telecom, e-commerce, and regulated gaming sectors.
  • Manage the full sales cycle: lead generation, qualification, negotiation, and closing.
  • Promote scalable, cloud-based SaaS and API-driven solutions for fraud prevention and identity verification.
  • Develop go-to-market strategies for South Africa and emerging African markets.
  • Build strong relationships with decision-makers and operational teams.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align priorities and achieve revenue goals.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline and forecasts using Salesforce CRM.
  • Represent LexisNexis at industry events and forums.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of B2B sales experience, ideally in SaaS or cloud-based solutions.
  • Proven success in closing complex enterprise deals.
  • Knowledge of fraud prevention, identity verification, KYC, AML, and risk management.
  • Experience working with banks, fintechs, telcos, or payment providers.
  • Familiarity with South African and African compliance frameworks (e.g., POPIA, FSCA, SARB, FIC).
  • Ability to engage with senior executives and technical teams.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills in English (French or Portuguese is a plus).
  • Self-driven, adaptable, and comfortable working remotely in a multicultural environment.
  • Willingness to travel within South Africa and across Africa.
