Location : Based in Cape Town South Africa (& Zambia hybrid travel required)

Working Hours : 8.30am – 5.00pm (full-time)

Role Overview

We are seeking a Business Development Manager to spearhead client acquisition, relationship management, and high-level project development across our operations in South Africa and Zambia.

This is not a back-office role - it's a hands‑on, growth‑driven position for someone hungry to build opportunities, close deals, and grow alongside the company. You don't need to be an engineer, but you must understand the renewable energy space, the regional market, and be willing to learn fast.

Key Responsibilities
  • Opportunity Generation : Identify and pursue new business opportunities in commercial, industrial, and utility solar + battery sectors.
  • Client Management : Build strong relationships with clients, from first contact through to project handover, ensuring a professional and trustworthy experience.
  • Project Development Support : Work with the technical team to shape tailored renewable energy solutions that meet client needs.
  • Market Development : Track industry trends, competitor activity, and regulatory changes in South Africa and Zambia to position Frost as a market leader.
  • Sales Conversion : Drive the full sales cycle - proposals, negotiations, contract closing, assistance with acquiring necessary permitting - supported by our engineering and finance teams.
  • Pipeline Management : Maintain a healthy and consistent deal pipeline to ensure the execution team can focus on delivering projects without worrying about lead flow.
  • Brand Representation : Represent Frost Projects and Frost Energy at industry events, networking forums, and client meetings.
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience : 3+ years in business development, sales, or client-facing roles. Renewable energy experience is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge : Understanding of renewable energy technologies, financing models, and market dynamics in Southern Africa.
  • Personality : Entrepreneurial, self‑driven, ambitious, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced, evolving business.
  • Skills : Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation abilities.
  • Strong organizational and client relationship management skills.
  • Flexibility : Willingness to travel regularly between South Africa and Zambia.
