A leading logistics firm in Cape Town seeks a Business Development Manager to drive business growth by identifying new opportunities, building relationships, and developing sales strategies. The ideal candidate has over 5 years of experience in business development, preferably in logistics. Responsibilities include market research, negotiating deals, and collaborating with internal teams. Competitive compensation and career development opportunities are offered.
Our Business Development Manager (BDM) will focus on driving business growth by identifying new opportunities, building relationships, and developing strategies. He / She will play a crucial role in expanding our organisation’s market reach and increase our revenue. Our Business Development Manager will also be involved in all aspects of business development from market research and lead generation to negotiating deals and managing client relationships.
Directly reporting to the Senior Business Development Manager
Analyzing market trends, identifying potential target markets, and researching leads.
Our Business Development Manager will create plans to achieve growth objectives, including identifying new markets and client needs.
The BDM will be responsible for explaining the value of products or services to potential clients and partners
The BDM will be involved in networking, attending industry events, and nurturing relationships with all our stakeholders.
The BDM will be involved in tracking key metrics, analyzing data, and making adjustments to strategies in order to meet goals.
Our BDM will work closely with sales, marketing, and product development teams to ensure alignment and successful project execution.
Our BDM will leverage his / her communication and negotiation skills to secure new business and partnerships.
Updated business opportunities to be documented and communicated at all
Proper, efficient and effective use of the Sales Mobility platform used at the organisation which includes relevant customer feedback.
All relevant information regarding the engagement to be captured.
Efficient, Effective, Quality reporting on all sales and marketing aspects of the business that will include competitor activity
Professional and relevant written communications between company
Ensure all necessary guidelines strictly adhered to
Sales related qualification, with at least 5 years’ experience in similar role and / or a Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is often preferred.
Proven experience in a commercial or business development role, preferably within a logistics or supply chain environment.
Knowledge of Logistics and Supply Chain Management : A solid understanding of logistics principles, processes, and best practices.
