Purpose of this role

The Business Development Coordinator manages sales, supports clients, and connects Field Sales, Stakeholders, and Customer Care.

The role focuses on growing revenue through excellent service, easy transactions, and process improvements, with strong support and growth opportunities.

Your primary responsibility is to coordinate all tasks that support sales, ensuring effective client service to secure deals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sales / client engagement: Supports Business Development Managers in promoting the B_ portfolio to stakeholders, retailers, customers, and new markets, while assisting them in selecting the best products for their needs and budget.
  • Project Co‑ordination: Supports the BDM with back‑end tasks like project management, workflows, order handling, logistics, and admin to enhance sales and service delivery.
  • Closing existing opportunities to create new ones, monitoring project progress, updating stakeholders, and maintaining accurate, real‑time records in the CRM.
  • CRM maintenance for forecasting, with a reliable database and project pipeline reflecting accurate pipeline health.
  • Efficient engagement with people, systems and process: Collaborates with a dedicated marketing and research team that provides project leads, and a customer service team that handles quoting, orders, and post‑delivery logistics.
  • Field activity organization: The BDM is responsible for organizing field activities, and the BDC can route two types of work to them: opportunities needing a field visit and business development opportunities.
  • Maintain positive relationships with team members and ensure productive, conflict‑free collaboration.
  • Participate in short daily WIP meetings and contribute to promotional activities.
  • Product competence: Attend ongoing product training and serve as a subject matter expert in your area of expertise.
  • Provide input into new product development, range recoloring, and the introduction of new product categories in collaboration with the Engineering team.
  • Reporting on KPIs to track performance, with monthly performance analysis and corrective action plans if needed, including detailed commentary.
  • Collaborate with the Commercial team to develop short‑ and long‑term plans to address sales margin, growth, and revenue variances using leading indicators and control techniques.
  • Develop and implement continuous improvement processes (IGP) to enhance output, reduce variability, and manage constraints.
Qualifications
  • Grade 12 / Matric with mathematics or math's literacy.
  • At least 3‑5 years relevant sales experience in a similar role within a relevant industry is essential.
  • Be able to articulate products and services to perfection.
  • Comfortable with a lot of things going on at any one time and able to communicate with a wide variety of people.
  • Experience working in a CRM system and Microsoft packages is essential.
  • Excellent time management skills to execute our daily tasks.
  • Ability to plan and organize priorities and calendar.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to converse at all levels but especially strong and effective in digital and online communication platforms.
