Job Description

An excellent opportunity exists for an entrepreneurial, ambitious individual in one of our Klerksdorp, Potchefstroom or Mafikeng Branches. The position of Business Consultant (also known as Broker Consultant) provides you with the opportunity to flex your business development and marketing skills while effectively determining your own rewards!

This is a sales role. It undertakes third party marketing (selling) and relationships building with brokers. The successful candidate will get a guaranteed income for the first 6 – 12 months, and thereafter work for commission only.

The BC endeavours to increase Old Mutual’s market share by means of maximising business submission and retention to Old Mutual through:

  • Marketing (sell) OM‘s products to brokers
  • Supporting the broker in their practice (cost efficiency and compliance)
  • Promoting and educating (up-skilling) brokers on OM’s offering/products
  • Building partnering relationships with brokers
  • Promoting self-service tool and systems usage with brokers
  • Partnering with the Sales Support to ensure efficient administration
Role Qualifications
  • Grade 12
  • A commercial degree/diploma will be an added advantage.
  • Experience in the Financial Services industry is essential
  • At least 2 years experience as a Broker Consultant or in similar role will be an added advantage.
  • Valid driver’s license and own transport.
  • Self-starter/self-driven/self-managed
  • Entrepreneurial/opportunistic/innovative
  • Socially confident and skilled to communicate well
  • Energy and positive attitude
