Role Specific requirements: The Business Architect must lead strategic transformation by aligning business capabilities with The Company's strategy.
The role demands 10+ years' experience in business architecture or similar, including telecom exposure, process modeling (UML/BPMN), and enterprise architecture tools.
Strong strategic thinking, stakeholder engagement, and governance expertise are essential, supported by certifications like TOGAF or CPBA.
A business architect is a strategic role that is responsible for business transformation and overseeing critical deliverables such as business capability models, business capabilities and value streams.
The main responsibility is leading the architecture of new or re-architecting aspects of existing ones. The role of the business architect includes:
- Providing an overview of the organization's capabilities.
- Describing the organization's strategy and identifying opportunities, threats and limitations.
- Aligning capabilities with strategy and ensuring new capabilities don't adversely affect existing ones.
- Planning and designing a business architecture strategy based on various business scenarios and motivations.
- Capturing vital views of the organization through a structured business architecture approach.
- Identifying areas for improvement and designing future‑state models that support the strategic goals of the organisation.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent.
- Ideally majors include physics, maths, computer science, business or information technology management.
- MBA or master's degree would be advantageous.
- Business architecture certification such as CPBA (Certified Pega Business Architect), Business Architecture Guild (BIZBOK) or The Open Group Certification in Business Architecture (TOGAF).
- Certificates around business process improvement, digital and analytics, Agile BPM, agile business analysis, digital transformation, decision automation and process mining an advantage.
Work Experience
- 6+ years in Senior Business Analysis, Business Architecture, Solutions Architecture in Telco or Digital Platform Operators.
- Telco experience an advantage.
- Minimum 10 years' experience in a senior role including at least 5 years in the telecommunication environment.
- Experience in modelling business processes by using various tools and techniques (e.g. UML).
- Experience with enterprise architecture modelling tools.
- Work across diverse cultures and geographies.
- Understanding of strategic delivery and translating strategy into execution.
- Experience in conducting research and trend analysis.
- In-depth understanding of emerging as well as mature markets.
- Recognized business architecture tools and methodologies, good business analysis and process understanding.
- Organisational Design experience is an added advantage.
