Core Description

Analyze the business requirements and translate it into the needs of the business in order to ensure operational execution under the guidance of business architecture. Provides input into the business process design. Document concrete requirements specifications for all ITS projects. The specifications produced will describe how the solution integrates with both the business processes and products, and the existing IT infrastructure. It will be required that Telkom's solutioning process is followed, and that Telkom's standard documentation is used. Job Responsibilities

Compiled Business Requirements Specifications

  • Identify business requirements based on current and future business initiatives, direction and goals within current and future system
  • Initiate changes within the system, according to the business requirements, ensuring the understanding and the input from business throughout the process prior to initiating the change request process
  • Assess the impact of changes, capture, analyze and document the requirement and then support the communication, testing and delivery of those requirements with the relevant parties
  • Ensure the use of delivered functionality and understanding the shortfalls within the system and establishing workarounds where possible
  • Support business during the change request process as to ensure the documentation and process is followed within the Telkom guidelines and policies
  • Assist business, if needed, to explain or present the change at the ICCF
  • Ensure that designs are within the best interest of the Client, Telkom, business and IT and that the change receives the required importance within the release schedule
  • Ensure the design documents clearly stipulate the requirements as per the request by business
  • Evaluate Functional Specifications according to the Telkom specification
  • Review functional specifications delivered by other Business Units within the Telkom
  • Review the functional specification and ensure the change receives the required importance within the release schedule as stipulated by business
  • Attend vendor scoping/ functional design sessions to: Provide business requirement input, to influence system designs and to identify business clarification items
  • Manage business clarification logs
  • Set up sessions with business to discuss clarification items
  • Conduct sessions with business to discuss clarification items raised by vendors as required
  • Communicate decisions taken by business
  • Verify impact of system designs on business requirements
  • QA review and sign-off business requirements and rules defined by vendors

  • Compile a view of the current processes (as relevant to the scope of the project), and the functional requirements that currently exist within the identified processes

  • Facilitation sessions to conduct group meetings in order to gather requirements and rules
