Position: Business Analyst
Position type: Contract (Hybrid)
Location: Johannesburg, South Africa
Job Description:

The Business Analyst will act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that banking processes, systems, and regulatory requirements are accurately captured and translated into functional solutions. This role demands strong domain expertise in retail banking, lending, payments, and risk management, coupled with advanced analytical and communication skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Requirements Gathering & Analysis
  • Engage with stakeholders to elicit, analyze, and validate business requirements.
  • Prepare BRDs (Business Requirement Documents) and FRDs (Functional Requirement Documents) for system enhancements and new implementations.
  • Conduct workshops to capture functional and non-functional requirements.
  • Process & System Analysis
  • Document and optimize banking workflows across core platforms (e.g., Core Banking, Cards, Payments).
  • Analyze gaps in existing systems and propose solutions aligned with compliance and operational needs.
  • Support digital transformation initiatives, including mobile and online banking enhancements.
  • Project Delivery
  • Collaborate with Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and Project Managers in Agile/SAFe environments.
  • Write user stories and acceptance criteria using GHERKIN syntax.
  • Participate in User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and ensure traceability of requirements.
  • Regulatory & Compliance
  • Ensure all deliverables meet banking regulatory standards and internal audit requirements.
  • Support risk assessments and compliance documentation.

  • Proven track record in digital banking projects, core banking migrations, and regulatory implementations.
