THE POSITION

As part of our financial team, you will join in on a quest to deliver compliance, efficiency, and growth to some of the most exciting businesses across multiple industries, including accommodation and hospitality, construction and engineering, education, financial and insurance services, healthcare, manufacturing, media and publishing, professional and commercial services, retail, software and IT, and telecommunication services.

Our three core service areas are:

  • Financial Systems: Implementing cloud‑based financial software to provide a solid foundation for business growth by automating and scaling the best business processes
  • Financial Management: Ensuring adequate governance structures are in place, business risk is managed, and financial performance is monitored, analysed and optimised
  • Business Intelligence: Bringing in-depth analysis and insights through years of professional experience with the latest automation and reporting technology

Responsibilities:

  • Managing the full accounting function for a diverse portfolio of SME clients, from data processing through to trial balance and financial statements.
  • Preparing and presenting accurate and timely monthly management accounts, complete with insightful commentary and variance analysis to drive decision‑making.
  • Compiling and submitting a full range of statutory returns, including VAT, Payroll, and Income Tax, ensuring complete compliance.
  • Developing financial forecasts, budgets, and cash flow projections to support their strategic growth plans.
  • Initially supporting and leading the implementation and optimisation of cloud‑based financial systems (e.g., Xero, Simplepay, Dext, Cin7)
  • Advising customers and implementing internal accounting controls and business processes to enhance efficiency and ensure accurate reporting.
  • Acting as a trusted advisor and the primary point of contact for your customers, building strong relationships founded on expertise and integrity.
  • Mentoring and supporting team members, contributing to the growth of the wider Creative CFO team.

EDUCATION and QUALIFICATION
  • Three‑year tertiary qualification plus honours in accounting, management accounting, business management or a related field.
  • Must be a registered member in good standing with a professional accounting body (e.g., SAICA, CIMA, SAIPA, or SAIBA). Non‑negotiable.
  • 1‑2 years of post‑article experience is highly advantageous.
