A leading marketing firm in Pretoria is seeking a strategic thought-leader to oversee brand marketing and communications. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in brand marketing, creative design, and storytelling. This role requires a proven ability in developing successful marketing campaigns and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive growth. Work with Executives and internal customers (Performance Marketing, Ecomm, and Business Development) to define overall brand vision, brand and product strategies, and coordinate implementation with Performance Marketing to ensure revenue and profit growth and improved ROI.
Translate business direction into brand and creative strategy, including success metrics, tracking, and optimization.
Develop product positioning that articulates competitive value propositions aligned with consumer needs and the company’s portfolio.
Oversee the planning and execution of design, messaging, product launch campaigns, social and PR initiatives, setting metrics for success, and continuously optimizing performance.
Oversee development and approval of pitch decks and content for partners to support business development and new product / strategy / channel launches.
Drive strategy implementation across brands, making necessary adjustments to maintain effectiveness and efficiency.
Lead effective asset creation (budget, concept, strategy, execution) across all mediums, channels, campaigns and owned assets.
Collaborate with licensing partners and internal teams (including Legal) to ensure technology and branding messaging deliver maximum benefit.
Guide design, UI and UX strategy with the Design Lead to create unique, impactful brand stories and content across all marketing mediums.
Ensure consistent and accurate brand representation, corporate identity, brand story and compliance.
Develop and execute brand strategy and messaging across the company brands (individually and combined).
Drive brand messaging, differentiation, and positioning for company products and services.
Build the company brands through a defined strategy, measurable outcomes, frequent reporting, and optimization.
Use multiple data sources to monitor category and brand performance metrics and consumer insights.
Initiate consumer research (pre‑ and post‑launch) to ensure high‑impact assets, positioning, and campaigns.
Conduct competitor research and analysis to inform brand and product positioning, identifying improvement areas, marketing claims and gaps to capitalize on.
Drive industry research and analysis to inform brand, design, messaging, and financial improvements.
Ensure accuracy and consistency of all internal and external content related to the company, portfolio brands, products, and special projects.
Ensure accuracy and consistency of copy across all channels and portfolio brands.
Liaise with Performance Marketing and Web teams on content updates and optimization.
Develop and execute communications strategies across all portfolio brands and channels.
Use industry‑leading techniques to drive organic growth, brand awareness, and share of voice.
Monitor performance and make course corrections for optimal results.
Oversee Blogs, Emails, Web content strategy, Organic Social Media, Internal Communications, and Shareholder Communications.>
Oversee social media reporting, analyses and integration of learnings to improve performance and engagement.
Define consistent, optimized messaging and priority benefits across all platforms for each brand and product line.
Develop and implement public and media relations strategies across the company portfolio.
Manage internal media relations activities and external agencies, ensuring strong outcomes and ongoing optimization.
Lead cross‑functional collaboration for the creation and approval of media materials.
Support external associations (e.g., CTA) and lobbying efforts with strategic insights and content creation.
Oversee the creation and accuracy of media materials and press briefings.
Oversee PR / media relations initiatives, setting success metrics, monitoring, reporting, and optimizing each campaign.
Oversee media monitoring and reporting, and build relationships with media to support positive coverage.
Create, execute, and manage an Awards strategy across the company portfolio to drive brand and product awareness in line with company strategy and brand pillars.
