What You Will Do

The successful candidate will drive the commercialization of assigned brands in South Africa by developing and implementing the marketing strategy and operational marketing mix to achieve brand ambition and deliver budgeted or above sales growth. In this role, you will be strongly involved in the launch of new products and indications within our Oncology portfolio.

Job Description

Design, implement and evaluate the marketing activities of assigned products within a given product line, including distribution channel solutions (digital, social media, inside sales). Assist in the review of marketing programs and in implementing changes. Assist in analysis of market data to identify key segment drivers. Work in conjunction with promotional and direct‑to‑consumer teams.

Typical Accountabilities
  • Advocate for and drive the brand among office and field colleagues as well as external customers to ensure the Brand Plan delivers crucial short‑term growth and long‑term brand success.
  • Launch excellence for new indications and new brands allocated to you.
  • Design, implement and evaluate marketing activities of assigned brand, including distribution channel solutions.
  • Align global strategic brand plans with local customer & market insights to develop tailored local brand strategy, brand messages and tactical plans.
  • Liaise closely with the sales team to receive market and customer feedback, embed campaigns, and provide brand vision and leadership. Ensure full understanding of the rationale and insights that underpin campaigns and how field input was used in material development.
  • Maximise the use of all commercial/medical channels by developing brand materials (digital/print) and activities through cross‑functional collaboration.
  • Continuously embed customer and market insights into all brand activities by synthesising qualitative feedback from market research reports, promotional analysis, customer insights and field insights with quantitative data.
  • Work with analysts to analyse market data and identify key segment drivers, growth opportunities and business threats.
  • Liaise with cross‑functional team members and external agencies to ensure full communication and success of marketing plans.
  • Be responsible for the budget of assigned brand(s) and maintain an outlook with corporate sustainability in mind.
  • Be the product, competitor and market expert of assigned brand.
Essential Skills and Experience Required
  • Completed Bachelor’s Degree in a scientific field or related.
  • Minimum 2 years experience as a brand manager in the pharma scientific field.
  • Preference for applicants with previous oncology experience.
  • Experience in insight/market research & brand forecasting.
  • Previous sales experience.

Desirable
  • MBA in a relevant field.
  • Previous oncology/specialty care, multi‑national pharma experience.
  • Understanding of the South African healthcare environment.
