Brand Manager – Pet Heaven

About the Role

As Brand Manager, you’ll lead Pet Heaven’s brand strategy and growth in South Africa’s pet eCommerce market. This role combines strategic leadership, data‑driven decision making, and hands‑on execution to drive customer acquisition, retention, and brand equity.

You’ll oversee marketing strategy, digital performance, brand partnerships, and team management to ensure Pet Heaven remains the leading online destination for pet parents in South Africa.

Key Responsibilities

Brand Strategy & Growth
  • Work with the brand CEO to develop and execute Pet Heaven’s annual marketing strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs.
  • Setting objectives and target metrics for all projects.
  • Work with the Data team to set up and track key marketing, consumer and website metrics to determine effectiveness and ROI.
  • Own rollout of all campaigns, supported by the Marketing Co‑ordinator.
  • Ensure consistent brand identity, tone, and visual communication across all touchpoints.
  • Identify and implement new opportunities for brand expansion, partnerships, and collaborations.
  • Lead go‑to‑market strategies for new product launches, services, and promotions.
  • Drive strategic supplier relationships and management of supplier campaigns.
  • Budget management – setting up budgets and managing implementation. Define, forecast and oversee channel strategies to drive buying behaviour and an engaged growing community.
  • Grow and maintain key stakeholder relationships with partnerships and suppliers.
Marketing Team Leadership & Management
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the marketing team, ensuring collaboration, innovation, and performance.
  • Oversee the execution of multi‑channel marketing campaigns, ensuring they drive brand awareness, engagement, and conversions.
Digital & Performance Marketing
  • Collaborate with the performance marketing team to optimize ROI.
  • Oversee marketing channel‑specific initiatives to drive customer retention and engagement.
  • Work closely with the development team to enhance the website experience, conversion rates, and customer journey.
  • Leverage analytics to track and measure campaign effectiveness, providing insights and recommendations for improvement.
Brand Communication & Customer Engagement
  • Ensure all marketing communication aligns with Pet Heaven’s brand voice, values, and customer‑first approach.
  • Oversee the development of high‑quality content.
  • Manage PR and partnerships to amplify brand reach and credibility.
  • Lead customer engagement initiatives that strengthen brand loyalty and advocacy.
Events & Brand Activations
  • Oversee and drive brand activations, trade shows, and pet‑friendly events to boost customer engagement and brand awareness.
  • Work with the marketing team to create impactful experiential marketing campaigns that connect with pet parents.
  • Leverage social media, PR, and digital marketing to maximize event reach and impact.
Reporting & Performance Tracking
  • Monitor and analyse key brand health metrics, customer insights, and market trends.
  • Regularly report on marketing performance, customer acquisition, retention rates, and brand engagement.
  • Use data‑driven insights to refine and optimise marketing strategies for improved ROI.
  • Present bi‑weekly, quarterly and annual brand performance reports to senior leadership.
