Job description

Job Title: Bookkeeper

Location: Remote – Open to candidates in South Africa

Working Hours: Eastern Time Zone business hours

Start Date: As soon as possible

Overview

We are seeking a Bookkeeper to manage day‑to‑day financial data entry, payroll processing and revenue reporting. The role focuses on accurate data management and process consistency rather than complex accounting. You will primarily use JustWorks for payroll, Google Sheets for financial tracking and reporting, and a proprietary Electronic Health Record (EHR) system for revenue data. Full training will be provided on how to pull and manage weekly revenue data from the EHR system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage weekly payroll processing for 30 therapists across 6 locations using JustWorks
  • Enter payroll data and review reports before submission (JustWorks auto‑calculates taxes and deductions)
  • Track, maintain and update financial spreadsheets weekly using Google Sheets
  • Pull and reconcile weekly revenue data from the EHR system to align with internal financial reports
  • Prepare and organize financial reports and analysis for internal review
  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
  • Communicate with the accountant when QuickBooks access or data is required
  • Assist with ad hoc financial data requests and integration of financial information from various systems
Requirements
  • 13 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience
  • Strong proficiency in Google Sheets (data entry, formulas, formatting and reporting)
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills with strong attention to detail
  • Organized, dependable and able to manage recurring weekly processes
  • Comfortable learning and navigating new software systems
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred (Not Required)
  • Experience with JustWorks or other payroll software
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks (for coordination with the accountant)
  • Background in healthcare or service‑based organizations
  • Experience with CRM systems
