Job summary

A trendy Cape Town restaurant is seeking a Bookkeeper & Office Administrator with at least 4 years of accounting experience. The ideal candidate should have strong bookkeeping skills and knowledge of hospitality, along with proficiency in Pastel, Xero, or similar software.   • Manage suppliers and supplier invoices, petty cash, and payments.
  • Generate reports and monthly management accounts.

Bookkeeper & Office Administrator required in Cape Town.

Do you have minimum 4 years’ experience in accounting and finance administration and would fit into an entrepreneurial, growing team?

A trendy Cape Town restaurant requires a detailed, organised professional with strong bookkeeping skills, hospitality being highly advantageous, to work Monday to Friday in a young and vibey environment.

Proficiency required in Pastel / Xero or similar, with strong Excel and management accounts experience.

Requirements:
  • Matric, or relevant qualification
  • Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
  • 4 years’ experience in accounting or admin (hospitality/retail preferred)
  • Proficiency in Pastel, Xero, Sage, or QuickBooks
  • Strong computer skills
  • Strong Excel and reporting skills
  • High level of attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Knowledge of POS systems, VAT, and PAYE compliance is advantageous
  • Hours: Monday – Friday | 09:00 – 16:30
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain accurate financial records and reconcile daily cash-ups
  • Manage suppliers and supplier invoices, petty cash, and payments
  • Administration relating to POS systems
  • Support the payroll process and general payroll administration
  • Generate reports, and monthly management accounts
  • Oversee VAT and PAYE compliance where necessary
  • Oversee office administration, contracts, and compliance documents
  • Assist with procurement and stock control – placing orders, receiving, checking stock
