Job summary

A leading recruitment firm in Cape Town seeks an experienced accountant to manage financial operations, including processing invoices, managing bank payments, and ensuring compliance. The ideal candidate holds a diploma or degree in accounting, is proficient in Excel, and understands cloud-based accounting platforms. Responsibilities

  • Processing invoices and expense reports.
  • Managing local and international bank payments.
  • Performing supplier, bank, and credit card reconciliations.
  • General Ledger reconciliations.
  • Assisting in project cost tracking.
  • Managing intercompany charges and invoicing.
  • Preparing and filing VAT returns.
  • Monthly PAYE submissions and compliance.

Skills

Familiarity with cloud-based accounting platforms
Experience in a group structure
Startup or small business background
Understanding of basic accounting principles

  • Familiarity with cloud-based accounting platforms (e.g. Xero, Sage Online, AutoEntry / Dext) would be a strong advantage
  • Experience working with multiple companies in a group structure
  • Background in a startup or small business environment
  • Solid understanding of basic accounting principles (debits / credits, accruals, VAT, recons, etc.)
  • Proficient in Excel, including report generation and data analysis
Responsibilities
  • Processing invoices and expense reports
  • Managing local and international bank payments
  • Performing supplier, bank, and credit card reconciliations
  • General Ledger reconciliations
  • Assist in project cost tracking and matching supplier invoices to capital projects
  • Managing intercompany charges, invoicing, and reconciliations
  • Preparing and filing VAT returns
  • Monthly PAYE submissions and compliance
  • Coordinate with company secretarial service provider
