Job Description:- Financial Record-Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions.
- Process accounts payable and receivable, including invoicing and supplier payments.
- Reconcile bank, supplier, and customer accounts.
- Month-End and Year-End Procedures:
- Prepare and submit monthly reconciliations and reports.
- Assist with month-end journal entries, general ledger maintenance, and financial reporting.
- Support auditors and financial managers with year-end audits and financial statements.
- Compliance & Reporting:
- Ensure compliance with SARS, VAT submissions, and other statutory requirements.
- Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for tax returns.
- Maintain asset registers and depreciation schedules.
- Payroll & HR Support (if applicable):
- Assist with payroll processing and employee benefit reconciliations.
- Maintain proper payroll records in line with labour regulations.
- Administrative Support:
- Provide financial support to farm, packhouse, and export teams as needed.
- Maintain proper filing systems for financial documents and contracts.
- Support the finance team in budgeting and cash flow forecasting.
Qualifications:- Qualifications:
- National Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Bookkeeping certification (e.g., ICB, SAIPA, or similar) is an advantage.
- Experience:
- 3+ years bookkeeping or accounting experience, preferably in agriculture, exports, or FMCG.
- Experience with perishable goods, farming operations, or export logistics is highly beneficial.
- Skills:
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, Pastel, QuickBooks).
- Strong Excel skills and understanding of reconciliations and financial principles.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle high-volume transactions during peak seasons.
- Other:
- Knowledge of South African tax laws and financial compliance.
- Valid driver’s license and own transport may be required for multi-site coordination.
