Bookkeeper (Distribution Company)

Join our client's dynamic team as a Bookkeeper and play a vital role in the financial management of our fast-paced distribution business!

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate billing and timely collections.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and process payments in line with company deadlines.
  • Maintain and update customer and supplier account records.
  • Prepare bank reconciliations and support month‑end and year‑end closing procedures.
  • Handle VAT submissions and ensure full compliance with South African regulations.
  • Maintain filing systems and organize financial documentation for efficient retrieval.
  • Assist with stock control, quarterly stock counts, and general admin as required.
  • Prepare salary schedules and process payroll‑related forms.
  • Liaise with internal departments regarding deliveries, stock replenishments, and material inputs.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, preferably within distribution, manufacturing, or FMCG sectors.
  • Strong proficiency in accounting software such as Pastel, QuickBooks, or Sage.
  • Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and multitask in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Experience with VAT, PAYE, and CIPC submissions is beneficial.
  • Strong communication skills for working with both suppliers and internal teams.
  • Matric, with an accounting or bookkeeping qualification preferred.
