Our Client , a prominent market leader in the FMCG Distribution Industry is seeking to employ an experienced Bookkeeper to their team based in Port Elizabeth.

3-5 years of relevant experience in a similar role, ideally in an FMCG environment secures!

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in a similar role, ideally in an FMCG environment.
  • Relevant certificate or degree in Finance, Accounting or Administration.
  • Current practical experience using Pastel (or similar accounting software).
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable own transport.
  • Strong familiarity with managing cashbook, creditors, debtors, and inventory.
  • Experience in processing journals and general accounting transactions.
  • Strong intermediate Excel skills; good computer literacy.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and standards.

Responsibilities, but not limited to:

  • Process all accounts receivable and perform debtor reconciliations.
  • Follow up on debtors’ payments (received and outstanding) and perform age-analysis.
  • Maintain and process the cash book.
  • Process creditor invoices; ensure supplier reconciliations weekly/monthly and manage payments.
  • Enter/configure sales figures in accounting system (e.g. Pastel).
  • Invoice and manage sales commissions.
  • Process stock journals; manage petty cash.
  • Handle rebates, RFCs (rebates or refunds), and insurance claim submissions/processing.
  • Keep records of assets; calculate depreciation using asset management system.
  • Manage bank interest entries and intercompany, salary, and provisions journals.
  • Prepare financial statements: Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss reports.
  • Process monthly salaries for specific regions; calculate and pay PAYE, UIF, Skills, etc.; submit required tax returns (e.g. EMP501).
  • VAT submission and reconciliation.
  • Assist with the annual audit: prepare and handover all relevant documentation (expenses, assets, director remuneration, amortization schedules, VAT reconciliations).
