Job summary

A leading recruitment agency in South Africa is seeking a TEMP Bookkeeper for a six-week assignment. The role involves managing the full bookkeeping function up to trial balance, processing financial transactions, and generating reports. Candidates must have a minimum of ten years’ experience in bookkeeping, proficiency in SAGE Intacct, and the ability to start immediately. Excellent candidates will possess advanced Excel skills and a keen attention to detail.

Qualifications

  • Proven and recent experience with SAGE Intacct (non-negotiable).
  • Sound knowledge of cashbook management and reconciliations.

Introduction

Accounting Firm in Midrand requires the services of a TEMP Bookkeeper(6 weeks up to mid Dec.

Job Requirements
  • Must have SAGE INTACCT knowledge and experience to start immediately.
  • Job Title – Bookkeeper to Trial Balance (Temporary Assignment).
  • KPA – To manage the full bookkeeping function up to trial balance, including accurate financial recording, reconciliation, and reporting in accordance with accounting standards and organisational policies.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Financial Transaction Processing: Process all daily, weekly, and monthly transactions in SAGE Intacct; capture and process general ledger entries; manage the complete creditors function, including invoice capturing, reconciliations, and payments.
  • Reconciliations and Trial Balance Preparation: Perform full cash book allocations and reconciliations; ensure accurate and timely balance sheet account reconciliations; maintain and update all financial records to trial balance level.
  • Reporting and Audit Support: Generate reports and provide financial data for management as required; support internal and external audit processes by providing required schedules and documentation.
  • Data Integrity and Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality and integrity of financial data and systems.
Desired Experience & Qualifications
  • National Senior Certificate (Matric).
  • Formal financial/accounting qualification (diploma or higher).
  • Minimum of ten years’ experience in bookkeeping, including trial balance preparation.
  • Proven and recent experience with SAGE Intacct (non-negotiable).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (including VLOOKUP).
  • Strong understanding of financial processes, balance sheet reconciliations, and creditor controls.
  • Sound knowledge of cashbook management and reconciliations.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and numerical proficiency.
  • Ability to work independently under pressure with minimal supervision.
  • Must reside in Midrand or immediate surrounding areas.
  • Own reliable transport.
  • Ability to start immediately.
  • Must be able and willing to commit to the full six‑week period.
