Introduction

Our client is looking for a detail‑oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, preparing financial reports and supporting the finance team with day‑to‑day accounting functions. This role requires a strong understanding of bookkeeping principles, industry‑specific financial practices, and the ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers
  • Process accounts payable and receivable
  • Reconcile bank statements, general ledger and account balances
  • Assist with all tax and statutory compliance
  • Assist with payroll processing and related reconciliations
  • Monitor cash flow and prepare financial reports
  • Support month‑end and year‑end close processes
  • Help prepare financial reports, statements, and analyses
  • Assist with audits, liaise with external auditors and tax consultants
  • Maintain asset registers and depreciation schedules
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies
  • Perform administrative support tasks
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field with SAIPA / SAICA articles
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting and bookkeeping experience
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Acumatica, QuickBooks, SAP, Microsoft) with Acumatica experience a great advantage
  • Strong understanding of South African tax laws and financial regulations
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines
