Job description
Overview

Primary objective of the role is to support the Finance Manager by performing the monthly operational processes in the Finance team, specifically regarding accurate capturing of actuals, balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations, application of the control framework, ledger close off, management account preparation and tax compliance status tracking. Additionally, the role is responsible for ad hoc project work on a recurring basis.

Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting:
    • Capture the actuals for the month from the relevant reports or supporting documents
    • Prepare the relevant entries required for the entry to be IFRS compliant and in line with group policies
    • Preparation of management account reporting packs, including writing commentary / variance analysis
    • Calculation of accruals and provisions
    • Adhering to monthly accounting timelines
    • Preparation of key intercompany balance sheet account reconciliations
    • Review of general ledger entries, ensuring records are accurate and complete before month end close, within the timelines defined by the Group reporting team.
    • Raise the relevant cost accruals to ensure the entities costs are reflected in the correct period
  • Financial Analysis, Budgeting & forecasting :
    • Contribute to the annual budgeting and forecasting process by providing key inputs and analysis to the Finance Manager as required.
    • Adhoc project work
  • Audit Support:
    • Work with auditors to provide necessary information and resolve any audit-related issues.
    • Preparation of audit packs and ensuring audit readiness
  • Cash Management:
    • Cash flow planning and analysis for entity dividends payouts
    • Maintain the cashflow forecast for the relevant entities
  • Stakeholders:
    • Assist with maintaining relationships with studio accounting teams
  • Taxation compliance
    • Follow up on the tax compliance tracker and to check the relevant entities have filed or paid their taxes as per the timeline in the tracker. Prepare tax calculations or estimations for the entities for group reporting purposes.
Qualifications
Essential
  • Undergraduate degree in Accounting
  • 5+ years’ experience in a similar role
Experience and skills
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations and tax laws
  • Proficiency with financial software and ERP systems and Excel
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
