About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Blockchain Platform Engineer to join their infrastructure team in Soweto. You will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining the core blockchain infrastructure that powers their decentralized applications and services. This hybrid role requires a strong understanding of distributed systems, network operations, and the specific requirements of blockchain platforms. You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our blockchain ecosystem, working closely with development and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage blockchain nodes and networks for various protocols.
• Implement and maintain infrastructure-as-code for blockchain deployments.
• Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and optimize resource utilization.
• Develop and automate operational processes for blockchain networks, including upgrades and maintenance.
• Ensure the security and resilience of the blockchain infrastructure against threats.
• Collaborate with development teams to support the integration of new features and applications onto the platform.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Platform Engineer or DevOps Engineer with a focus on blockchain technology.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, networking protocols, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience managing and operating blockchain nodes (e.g., Ethereum, Hyperledger).
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and infrastructure automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
• Understanding of containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in complex environments.
