Job summary

Omnia Holdings' BME division seeks a General Assistant in the Northern Cape to support truck operations, housekeeping and site duties. You will help gather materials at silos, assist the operator, and ensure safety and compliance with SHEQ standards.

The role requires Grade 12 with Mathematics and relevant blasting assistance certification, with 2 years blasting experience preferred. Permanent position with opportunities to grow within the Omnia mining and chemicals sectors.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 with Mathematics is required.
• Blasting assistant certificate (MQA) is required or preferred.
• Code 08 / Code B Licence is desirable.
• Magazine Master Ticket is desirable.
• Stemming Loader is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support the truck operator with loading and pre-use inspections.
• Maintain vehicle housekeeping and safety standards on site.
• Assist with sampling, calibration and measurement tasks as required.
• Ensure SHEQ compliance and assist with the blasting process as directed.
• Act as spotter and help ensure correct hole charging procedures.
• Support minor maintenance tasks and keep calibration gear in good condition.
