Job summary

Carlysle Human Capital in Durban seeks a Biostatistics professional to provide statistical expertise for clinical trials and observational studies. The ideal candidate will hold a Masters or PhD in Statistics/Biostatistics, have extensive experience with R and/or Python, and a strong background in epidemiology and health data analysis,

Qualifications

• Masters degree or higher in Statistics, Biostatistics or related quantitative discipline.
• PhD in Statistics or related field advantageous.
• 4 years of research and statistical analysis experience.
• Strong experience in R and/or Python; SAS, Stata or other software advantageous.
• Experience in applied statistical research, epidemiological studies and health data analysis.
• High level of MS Office literacy (Word, Advanced Excel and Outlook).
• Experience with longitudinal data, repeated measurements, survival/time-to-event analysis and multivariable modelling advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide statistical advice for the design of clinical trials and observational studies and contribute to protocols and grant applications.
• Undertake projects in Biostatistical methodology and applied Biostatistical research; or be a co-investigator or study statistician in health-related project.
• Determine and undertake analysis of clinical trials, observational studies and de-identified routine health records data and record statistical analysis code in a reproducible format.
• Write-up study design, sample size, statistical analysis plans and study analysis results.
• Prepare routine and adhoc study reports and contribute to presentations and publications.
