Job summary

Arup in Cape Town seeks a civil and electrical engineering drawings specialist to support renewable energy, transmission and infrastructure projects. You will produce and maintain drawings, models and digital outputs across solar PV, substations, and distribution networks while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams from feasibility to detailed design.

You will work with AutoCAD, Civil3D and Revit, ensuring accuracy and alignment with Arup standards.

The purpose of this role is to support the delivery of high-quality civil and electrical engineering drawings, models and digital deliverables across renewable energy, transmission and distribution, and wider infrastructure projects. Typical projects may include solar PV, battery energy storage systems (BESS), wind energy developments, substations, transmission lines, underground cablesystemsand associated infrastructure. The role will contribute to projects from feasibility and concept development through to detailed design and construction support, working closely with multidisciplinary teams across local,regionaland international markets.

The rolecontributes toArup integrated, multidisciplinary designapproachby working collaboratively with engineers, BIMtechniciansand other disciplines to produceaccurate,coordinatedandtimelyproject outputsfrom scheme design through to detailed design and final deliverables.

Alldocumentation produced must be self-checked for accuracy, completeness, coordination,errorsand omissions before issue and beforesubmission throughArup’sinternal review and checking processes, where applicable.

The rolesupport technical excellence, quality assurance, digitalcapabilityand efficient project delivery, while contributing positively to Arup’s culture of collaboration, learning,inclusionandinnovation.

AutoCAD,Civil3Dand Revitarekeytools for our organisation.You will be expected to be conversant with these tools and to continue developing CAD,Revit,BIM and digital skills through Arup learning resources, SharePoint self-learning tools, in-house guidance, projectexperienceand support from colleagues.
